| Canoe Handler | ||||||
A canoe handler is anyone who works mostly outside (as opposed to working in the office). On busy days a Canoe Handler can be broken down into three seperate job descriptions.

| Driver - Not all Canoe Handlers will be drivers. Only employees 18 and over will be permitted to drive. Drivers are responsible for keeping their vehicles clean. The drivers are expected to emphasize customer service loading customers into their vehicles and helping them into their boat at the drop off point. In addition drivers are required to do all job duties listed below | ||||||
| The Dock will help customers out of their boats once they finish their trip at the canoe livery. In some circumstances they will go with a driver to help them unload customers at drop off points. In addition Dock Men are required to do all job duties listed below. | ||||||
| The Yard- The yard is the most important position. One person will monitor the customers in the waiting area. Based on number of people, canoes, kayaks, trip number, and waiting time, The Yard will regulate which customers get into what vehicles. | ||||||

| Qualifications | ||||||
Positive work attitude Available for work during weekends between Memorial Day and Labor Day Friendly, enthusiastic, good with people and work well with others. Must be available to work through Labor Day. Work all holiday weekends, and most weekends through the season. Work most moonlight and torchlight trips Attend staff training. Participate in periodic gatherings, meetings, and outings. Knowledgeable about vehicle repair and small engines |
