Experience One of the Most Scenic Trips in the Hocking Hills

Experience one of the most scenic canoe and kayak trips in the Hocking Hills. The Natural Rockbridge Trip combines a short hike to the Midwest’s most significant natural bridge with a peaceful paddle through a protected stretch of the Hocking River.

Your journey begins just across from Natural Rockbridge State Nature Preserve, home to the largest natural bridge in the Midwest. Spanning more than 100 feet in length, the Natural Rockbridge arches gracefully across a forested ravine and is just a short hike from our river put-in. It’s the perfect way to start your day before launching onto the water.

From there, you’ll paddle approximately six peaceful miles of the Hocking River, winding through state preserves and quiet woodland scenery. With no development along this stretch, the experience feels calm, scenic, and refreshingly unplugged. Along the way, you’re welcome to stop at sandbars for a swim, relax in the sunshine, or enjoy snacks from a cooler you bring along.
Natural Rockbridge trips are ideal for couples, families, groups of friends, and first-time paddlers.
