Routes
Hocking Hills Adventures invites you to embark on two thrilling tubing experiences that showcase the beauty of the Hocking River.
Optimal Water Conditions
When river levels are higher, your tubing adventure begins at scenic Crocketts Run and floats down to the Canoe Livery. This beautiful 5-mile stretch typically takes 3–4 hours and offers some of the best river views, especially in spring and early summer.
This route depends on higher water levels and may be closed without notice.
Lower Water Conditions
During lower water levels, we drop you off at a faster-moving section of the Hocking River near Natural Rockbridge and pick you up at the Crocketts Run take-out. The float time is approximately 2–3 hours.

During high water, life jackets are required at all times
Life jackets are provided for all customers
What do you recommend we bring with us?
- Waterproof bags
- Change of clothes (hot showers available on site)
- Sunglasses with a strap
- Hat and bathing suit
- Water shoes for wading (no flip-flops due to rocky river bottom)
- Sunscreen and bug spray
Do we need reservations?
Tubing is very popular during the summer. Reservations are not required, but highly recommended for availability. For flexibility, bookings can be made up to two hours before departure.
Can we tie tubes together?
Yes, tubes may be tied together. We recommend keeping groups small to maintain control and spacing on the river. We have a limited supply of rope available, so bringing your own rope is encouraged. DO NOT USE LIFEJACKETS TO TIE TUBES TOGETHER
What do your double tubes look like?
How big is a cooler tube?
Our heavy-duty cooler tubes measure approximately 48″ x 36″ x 10″ when inflated and fit coolers ranging from 36–50 quarts. Typically, this accommodates one large cooler or two medium coolers.
Can a tube be rented with a canoe or kayak?
Yes. Keep in mind that tubes move at a much slower pace than canoes or kayaks. We recommend bringing a rope to securely tie the tube to the canoe or kayak.
